Bonatea steudneri
Description
Robust terrestrial up to 1m tall. Leaves 7-20, cauline, elliptic to spear-shaped and up to 154mm long. Inflorescence lax, 5-35 flowers, green and white in colour.
Distribution in South Africa
Very rare and found only on the KwaZulu Natal north coast.

Typical habitat
Grows in thicket, grassland and savanna, from near sea level to 700m.
Flowering Period
This species typically flowers between March and May.
Distribution elsewhere in Africa
This species is widespread and found in the DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and also in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
